About USCP

The US-China Program (USCP) aims to assist the United States and China in adopting renewable energy solutions that foster economic development and address the challenges of energy security, climate change, and environmental degradation by mobilizing stakeholders and creating effective collaborations on both sides of the Pacific.

Renewable energy provides the United States and China  an opportunity to simultaneously strengthen our economies, decrease dependence on imported fuels, and combat climate change. As the leaders in carbon dioxide emissions—with a combined 40 percent global share—the US and China must also commit to being the leaders in adopting renewable energy.

To strengthen renewable energy deployment efforts in China and the US, ACORE is linking policymakers, academia, and industry leaders across the Pacific. The program seeks to educate its stakeholders on important renewable energy developments in the US and China, to strengthen both countries' markets by supporting effective policies, and to promote meaningful cooperation in the industry.

ACORE Members who are leaders in the US and Chinese renewable energy industries are invited to join the USCP. These members will then be directly involved in semi-annual high-level workshops focused on the policies, trends, and technology currently shaping the Chinese and US markets. USCP participants are also charged with the consultation of the program's quarterly policy & market review, which is released via online report and webinar. Members also receive unparalleled access to the USCP Groupsite, an interactive platform to connect with other members to discuss the news updates released weekly by the USCP and to pursue business partnerships.

“China has made clear its commitment to advance renewable and clean energy solutions for meeting its vast and growing energy needs,” believes Michael Eckhart, president of ACORE. “This has tremendous business implications for US companies who are financing or inventing and building renewable energy products and services. We have an opportunity to grow the strength of our industry through collaborating with other nations who are setting new objectives for cleaner and more efficient energy production.”
