Ms. Jing Su, the US-China Program Director at ACORE, promotes the advancement of renewable energy in China and Asia Pacific.  She is also the primary administrator of ACORE’s International Committee, where she is developing data on foreign renewable energy markets and facilitating its broad dissemination to global policy leaders in renewable energy development.

 

Ms. Su joined ACORE in 2008 after finishing her master’s degree in environmental management at Yale School of Forestry and Environmental Studies. During her graduate studies, Ms. Su worked with the Environmental Defense and United Nations, building her expertise in renewable energy and climate related issues.

 

Ms. Su earned her M.S. in Environmental Science and B.S. in Resource and Environment from Shanghai Jiaotong University in 2006 and 2004, respectively.  Ms. Su is a native speaker of Chinese.

Mr. Tim Cronin
, an Associate with the US-China Program, is currently located in Washington, DC, where he works to foster collaboration between the US and China on renewable energy. He is responsible for engaging USCP Partners to develop various program components, representing USCP at external events, managing the USCP daily news updates, and maintaining the USCP web presence.

 

Mr. Cronin joined ACORE in 2008 after spending time in China teaching English to elementary school students. He earned his BA in Law & Society from American University in Washington, DC, where he composed his thesis on China and Vietnam’s economic reforms.

 

During his undergraduate studies, Mr. Cronin spent a semester at Peking University and held internships with the US Department of Homeland Security, the Council for Excellence in Government, and the Beijing office of Lehman, Lee & Xu.

Ms. Abby Poats is the US-China Program's Beijing-based Representative and Research Associate. In Beijing, Ms. Poats provides research and program support to Ms. Jing Su, the USCP Director, and serves as the USCP's local contact for current and potential partner organizations.

 

Ms. Poats was an intern at ACORE in the summer of 2008 and returned to work with the US-China Program after graduating from Princeton University where she earned her BA in Politics with a Certificate in Environmental Studies.

 

A Washington, DC native, Ms. Poats’ interest in Chinese politics and culture led her to accept a teaching fellowship at China Foreign Affairs University in Beijing in 2009.

Mr. Eric Mooney is an intern with the US-China Program at ACORE’s office in Washington, DC. Mr. Mooney delivers program support to Director Ms. Jing Su and Associate Mr. Tim Cronin, including the compilation of the USCP’s daily news updates.

 

Mr. Mooney joined ACORE in the September 2009 while studying Science, Technology, and International Affairs (STIA) at Georgetown University’s School of Foreign Service. While integrating this major with a Certificate in International Development, Mr. Mooney is especially interested in the use of renewable energy technology as a tool of development aid.

 

He hopes that working with ACORE and the USCP will provide greater insights into the cutting-edge technologies, as well as the cultural, business, and policy dynamics that surround present US-Chinese engagement in renewable energy.
